In case of a loss or damage, the following actions must be taken to protect your claim:
- File a claim in writing with all carriers involved with shipment. If the carrier has no standard form for notification, use the format provided on this web site as a sample, "Formal Notice of Claim." Written notice of loss must be filed within seven days
- Immediately notify Vazzano Ltd. Claims Department by mailing or faxing or emailing the "Standard Form for Presentation of Loss and Damaged Claims," also provided on this web site

Complete documentation must be gathered and submitted in order for the claim to be considered by underwriters. Required documents include, but are not limited to, the following:
- A copy of the Formal Notice of claim against all carriers involved with shipment, with responses, if available
- Standard Form for Presentation of Loss and Damage Claims detailing amount being claimed
- Original Certificate of Insurance or copy of Monthly Insurance Report
- Original Ocean Bill of Lading or Airway Bill
- Domestic Freight Bill
- A copy of the Commercial Invoice(s) covering the entire insured shipment
- A copy of the Packing List, if any
- A copy of the Duty Consumption Entry
- Signed Delivery Receipt noting damages/shortages
- Bills for repair costs, reconditioning charges or other charges to be considered as part of claim
- On household goods and personal effect claims, an inventory with itemized values is required to establish the dollar value of the items shipped
Upon receipt of the claim documents, Vazzano Ltd. will send an acknowledgement of the claim, and a file number will be assigned for future reference.
Settlement checks should be received within 30 days of submission of a fully documented and approved claim.
